.....................I WISH.........................

Hello Ma'am!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my blog for last week............

I learned many things ob biology last week,,,,,,although we
are busy practicing on the drum and lyre,,,,we are able
to take up the lesson about the KARYOTYPE.......

A karyotype is the characteristic chromosome complement of a eukaryote species.[1][2] The preparation and study of karyotypes is part of cytogenetics.
Karyogram of human male using Giemsa staining.

The basic number of chromosomes in the somatic cells of an individual or a species is called the somatic number and is designated 2n. Thus, in humans 2n=46. In the germ-line (the sex cells) the chromosome number is n (humans: n=23).[1]

So, in normal diploid organisms, autosomal chromosomes are present in two copies. There may, or may not, be sex chromosomes. Polyploid cells have multiple copies of chromosomes and haploid cells have single copies. The study of whole sets of chromosomes is sometimes known as karyology. The chromosomes are depicted (by rearranging a microphotograph) in a standard format known as a karyogram or idiogram: in pairs, ordered by size and position of centromere for chromosomes of the same size.

Karyotypes can be used for many purposes; such as, to study chromosomal aberrations, cellular function, taxonomic relationships, and to gather information about past evolutionary events.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm............I wish I will get a high score on
the coming National Achievement Test!!!!!!!!!!!!! I
promise!!!!!!!!! I will do all my best to pass
the NAT on the 5 subjects,,,,mathematics,,,
english,,,biology,,,filipino and
araling panlipunan...........

I also wish that I could get a high score on the peiodical
test on all subjects next week.......

That's all for this week...........
GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...............All about GENETICS....................

Hello Ma'am!!!!!!!!!
This is my blog for last week,,,about genetics..........

You know Ma'am,,,, I understand this lesson very
well,,,,,,,,specially on the monohybrid
cross,,,ASTIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Genetics (from Ancient Greek γενετικός genetikos, “genitive” and that from γένεσις genesis, “origin”[1][2][3]), a discipline of biology, is the science of heredity and variation in living organisms.[4][5] The fact that living things inherit traits from their parents has been used since prehistoric times to improve crop plants and animals through selective breeding. However, the modern science of genetics, which seeks to understand the process of inheritance, only began with the work of Gregor Mendel in the mid-nineteenth century.[6] Although he did not know the physical basis for heredity, Mendel observed that organisms inherit traits in a discrete manner—these basic units of inheritance are now called genes.

A monohybrid cross is a cross between parents who are heterozygous at one locus; for example, Bb x Bb (see the Punnett square below). Example: B=brown. b=blue. BB=Dark Brown. Bb=Brown not blue. bb=Blue.

Monohybrid inheritance is the inheritance of a single characteristic. The different forms of the characteristic are usually controlled by different alleles of the same gene. For example, a monohybrid cross between two pure-breeding plants (homozygous for their respective traits), one with yellow seeds (the dominant trait) and one with green seeds (the recessive trait), would be expected to produce an F1 (first) generation with only yellow seeds because the allele for yellow seeds is dominant to that of green. A monohybrid cross compares only one trait.

..........BLOG.............

Hello Ma'am!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my blog for last week...............

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............I'm so tired, tired of reviewing all
the lessons we tuckle for the preparation for the periodical
test,,,,,,,,,I wish I could get a high score............

I learned many things on the third grading in biology,,,,,,,,,,, the skeletal system,,,,integumentary system,,,,,,,,,,,the different hormones and glands
of the body,,,,,,,,the meiosis,,,,,,mitosis,,,,,,,,reproduction of
plants,animals and humans.........

Skeletal System,,,,,,,,serves many important functions; it provides the shape and form for our bodies in addition to supporting, protecting, allowing bodily movement, producing blood for the body, and storing minerals. Its 206 bones form a rigid framework to which the softer tissues and organs of the body are attached.Vital organs are protected by the skeletal system. The brain is protected by the surrounding skull as the heart and lungs are encased by the sternum and rib cage.

Meiosis is the type of cell division by which germ cells (eggs and sperm) are produced. Meiosis involves a reduction in the amount of genetic material.

Meiosis comprises two successive nuclear divisions with only one round of DNA replication.
Four stages can be described for each nuclear division.

* Interphase: Before meiosis begins, genetic material is duplicated.
* First division of meiosis
o Prophase 1: Duplicated chromatin condenses. Each chromosome consists of two, closely associated sister chromatids. Crossing-over can occur during the latter part of this stage.
o Metaphase 1: Homologous chromosomes align at the equatorial plate.
o Anaphase 1: Homologous pairs separate with sister chromatids remaining together.
o Telophase 1: Two daughter cells are formed with each daughter containing only one chromosome of the homologous pair.

* Second division of meiosis: Gamete formation
o Prophase 2: DNA does not replicate.
o Metaphase 2: Chromosomes align at the equatorial plate.
o Anaphase 2: Centromeres divide and sister chromatids migrate separately to each pole.
o Telophase 2: Cell division is complete. Four haploid daughter cells are obtained.

One parent cell produces four daughter cells. Daughter cells have half the number of chromosomes found in the original parent cell and with crossing over, are genetically different........
